Kiara OnomotoKiara Onomoto is an eighth grader who attends Cleveland Middle School. In addition to supercomputing, Kiara plays the violin in Orchestra. She is able to work on supercomputing, schoolwork, and orchestra balancing them well. She loves to do math and science in school and enjoys helping the community in any way possible. Kiara hopes to continue in supercomputing and in other STEM projects.
Her significant achievement for this year in supercomputing, is that she has been able to talk and present more easily. This is because after interviewing their many resources she got to present them a variety of questions to help them understand what they do in their jobs and how it can help with their project. This not only helps Kiara and Ayvree since they are able to get more information, but helps them connect with the person they are talking to learn from them. Overall, Kiara has seen a significant improvement from the beginning of the year. She was able to practice speaking therefore feels more confident when speaking and is able to talk in more depth, when explaining something to someone. |
Ayvree UrreaAyvree Urrea is an eighth grader at Cottonwood Classical Preparatory School. She participates in several extracurricular's including basketball, soccer, American sign language, natural helper's, and the supercomputing challenge. She enjoys math and science subjects in school and loves to use those to help the community. She works good on a team, is very hardworking, and is able to balance multiple activities. Ayvree plans to stay in supercomputing for years to come to learn more about coding and hopefully have a future in STEM.
A significant achievement that she had this year was not only getting better at presenting, but being able to talk to and come up with questions for resources. With the amount of people resources Kiara and her used this year she had to learn how to research what that person's job was and what kind of questions pertained to that job and could be used for there project. In addition, she has gotten better at explaining and giving more information about the project when presenting. This year Ayvree has been able to become more confident in what she is saying and provide more information. |
